taxvak is a product of Parent Vertical LLC (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use taxvak, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: your tax information is used only to organize your taxes, it is encrypted, it is never sold, and it is shared only when you tell us to.
Only to provide taxvak to you: to read and sort your documents, build and update your checklist, calculate deadlines and estimates, send the reminders you asked for, prepare your package, and share it with the people you choose. We do not use your tax information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to build or improve any other product.
Tax return information is protected by federal law (Internal Revenue Code §7216). We disclose it only:
Your documents and information are encrypted in transit and at rest. Access inside our company is limited to people who need it to run the service, and every access is logged. We maintain a written information security program as required by the FTC Safeguards Rule, and we back up your data daily to storage that cannot be altered.
We keep your household and its documents for 3 years after the end of its tax year — roughly how long the IRS normally has to ask questions about a return — unless you delete them sooner. Sign-in codes expire in minutes; shared links expire on the date you choose. When you delete a household, it is removed right away from taxvak and from our backups within 30 days.
Depending on where you live (for example California), you may have additional rights. Write to us and we will help.
taxvak accounts are for adults. A parent or guardian may add a dependent child's name and documents to their own household.
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you by email before it takes effect. Questions: hello@taxvak.com.
